The San Jose Municipal Stadium has a long history, especially in baseball. As early as 1874, organized baseball was played in this stadium. Today, the Municipal Stadium is home to the San Jose Giants, a minor league team that is affiliated with the San Francisco Giants.

Built in 1988, the HP Pavilion is a sports and entertainment center that is home to the San Jose Sharks. This arena is also the host of numerous concerts, theatrical performances and other sporting events. HP Pavilion is situated in downtown San Jose.
